Yard Report and Fall Projects

I worked in my small garden out front after that nasty frost.

Frozen flowers

I pulled out the frozen plants before they turned to mush.

Garden Saturday

I took away some of the garden ornaments.  The squirrels stole one of my red white and blue whirlygigs sticks…I couldn’t find it anyplace.  My Victoria Blue Salvia is still alive.

Salvia Victoria Blue

I worked on my solar lights one afternoon replacing the non working lights with working ones.  I bought a whole bunch of replacements the other day on sale…I used a number of them but still have some stashed away for next spring.  Far Guy calls it my light garden…and I suppose it is, I like seeing the lights out the window in the evening…I know the snow will cover them up…but they will emerge again in the spring.

The yard looks better, I will mulch leaves one more time and then I may be done.

I am feeling better but still tire easily, I hope to continue on with my fall work list outside this week.  Clean out my car, take in glass flowers, mulch one last time and trim some tree branches (The ones I have to duck whilst mowing.) I have a larger project later in the week and have called for help from LumberMason next door…he is out of school for MEA. This weeks freezer meal is Chicken Tortilla Soup…I don’t care for it but Far Guy enjoys it.

Anyone out there watching Timeless?  How about This is Us?   Both shows are better than I had anticipated.

Good Morning, Connie. Your salvia is pretty. Our leaves are just beginning to fall. I'm not sure we'll see much color in the leaves this year. I think it's been to dry.
Don't work too hard and I hope you start feeling better/stronger.

God bless MEA! It is a gift this week for GN and me, too. That chore list of yours looks exhausting. I hope you rest when you need to. Take care!

We are forecasted to hit 86 today. And dry and dusty. We are self mulching at this point :-(.

It's amazing how a little frost can do to the flowers. You have it looking pretty again. Every time you mention leaves I cringe thinking about what's ahead. My work has not even started. Glad you are feeling better.

Glad you're feeling better and obviously on the mend. Whatever it was, it's behind you now. Rest and relaxation should do the rest, just don't work too hard at the beginning of getting well, okay? :-)

I love your little garden, but it is sad to see it after the frost. Hooray for the Salvia! We had one night that was about 31, but that's as low as we've gone so far. Very strange for us.
Glad you are feeling a bit better.

Glad you are feeling a little better and getting some work done outside. We haven't had a killer frost yet but now are experiencing higher than normal temps. It was in the mid seventies yesterday.

No regular TV, but if they are good and last I can see them in about a year on Netflix--LOL! Glad you are feeling a little better. The light garden looks great after you cleaned it all up. Wonder what a squirrel plans to do with your whirlygig?

Squirrels are famous for sneaking off with garden stuff here to lol ! No killer frost for us as of yet the temps have been quite warm and humid here still which is unusual for us this time of year . I am almost done my gardens but now I have to get with the cleaning up of the leaves and after today's high winds I will have tons to tidy up come the weekend lol ! Glad you are feeling better ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

At least you're getting fall yard work done. Here we got snow two weeks ago and it's been miserable ever since so what isn't done will have to wait until spring.

You did a beautiful job cleaning up your flower garden....it looks pretty again! Go salvia! I will check those shows on Roku but I doubt it as I have to have satellite to watch regular t.v. stations. Rita and I will watch next year! LOL!
I've been tiring easily for years now but if you are on a statin drug....I found that taking Co-Q-10 vitamin (I take the gummies) really seems to help. Hope you regain your strength but it still sounds like you are getting plenty done!

I did take in and wash all of my glass flowers last week. they are now stored in the attic. The rest of the clean up is yet to be done, but it will be a while before we get frost. It is a good feeling to have everything cleaned up, like you have.
We are watching "This is Us". Interesting so far.

I have been doing the same, had to dig the carrots out of the ground as the first two inches were frozen ground! Carrots are good and sweet! Most of the important work is done outside but still need to clean the garage.
This Is Us I am enjoying! Have not watched the other one.

You have a good start on Fall clean-up. A light garden sounds like a fine idea. I wonder how I could make one.

We are dealing with broken glasses for now for my wife to replace and then we will address the flu shot journey. I have so many dead things to dispose of and it takes time to go do that. Now that it is cold, the snow may have to smash them down. I really like the glass ornaments.
