Company

Last night Far Guy was talking with his sister on Facetime.  I got up to get something and noticed twin fawns outside the window.  Luckily my camera was on my desk…and Far Guy figured out how to show his sister the deer too!  Newfangled gadgets are wonderful sometimes.

I took these photos through the window.

They hung around a little bit and then took off, we never saw their Mom.

Is there any doubt why they are called “white – tails”?

Chance was sound asleep during the deer visit.  He is sleeping quite a bit lately…the dog days of summer maybe…or old age.

We have had deer in the yard from time to time.  One morning I was sitting outside while a deer ate my roses around the grain bin…it stomped its feet at me.  Another time we heard something crash into the corner of the house… the hair left behind belonged to a deer.  Years ago the deer would stomp their feet and snort at Captain our old deaf dog…his nose was still good and he would put up such a ruckus they would leave the gardens.

Absolutely beautiful photos, Connie! We see deer in our neighbor's garden every day! I was also told that the occasional bear has been seen!
Saying "hi" to Chance and wishing each of you a happy weekend.

WE have one that comes into the yard and I swear it laughs at the dogs that are behind a chain link fence...

I practically ran into one getting the mail yesterday. I wasn't expecting it midday like that and I didn't notice it until it jumped into the woods. I almost got run over by one a few years ago while I was hanging clothes too. The fawns are so cute and you got a great picture. I've never used Facetime...just Skype which doesn't seem to work that well and now I have no camera on my pc and my tablet doesn't work. I think I will be ordering a Kindle one.

Oh those fawns are so cute! You're lucky to have them visit your yard.

Only once has a deer stomped it's feet at me. I went inside and told my husband and he said "Get away from it".

Wow, they are getting big. Yep, the stomp is a warning, threatening motion. Sheep do that too, as I imagine many hooved animals do. There is a horrible video out there from Cranbrook BC (I think) of a deer in town attacking an old border collie. Thankfully the dog came out okay, but they can be very protective of their fawns.

Great photos.

I unexpectedly had a close encounter with a deer when out walking. It's the first time I've seen a deer stamp: I backed up and the deer decided I wasn't a threat.

Boomer sleeps more and more...it's his age. Makes me sad.

Absolutely great photo of that one by the tree! Yeah! I have been walking on the side of the field up near the woods and got some "snorting" yesterday and then saw three white tails disappear.

McFamily and I use Google Hangouts for video chats. So cool that his sister got to see the twins, too. Nope--no doubt about the white tail label--LOL! :)

How wonderful to have fawns in your yard. These guys won't have their spots much longer -- they're getting big.

They are so beautiful but also sooooo pesky!

There was a big dump of deer poop on my driveway this morning. I know the deer are around but they come at night.Ron tells me when deer are in my yard. Deer stomping and blowing is an aggressive behaviour.

No deer here in the suburbs, just very pesky raccoons and squirrels. They are all so cute though.

Isn't it great when you happen to look out just at the right time and see something so special! AND have your camera handy too.

Those are great photos...but I know how frustrating it can be, watching all your hard gardening work get eaten right before your eyes!!!
