Coincidence?

How much in our lives is just coincidence?

I just had a coincidence happen to me.

I began collecting old photos a number of years ago and I present one a day over at Forgotten Old Photos Yesterday I posted Photo Number 2183, and today I posted Full Circle 140.   Well over 250 photos have been returned to family…I haven’t counted in a while. I look for photos in Antique Shops, garage sales and Flea Markets.   Mostly I look for photos with names or photos that are interesting to me in the hopes that they will be interesting to other people too.
Governors Mansion in Buxton ND
What in the world could be the connection between this photo and one I found in an Antique Shop in Detroit Lakes Minnesota?  By the way this is the former Governor Ragnvold Nestos residence in Buxton North Dakota. Our daughter Trica and her husband purchased this home in 1995.  That is Far Guy and Trica on the step and that red Geo was the lemon that needed engines every year..and the photographer was you guessed it…me.

Any guesses what the connection could be?  Pop on over to Forgotten Old Photos if you are curious.  The whole story made me smile.

I went over and read the whole story. I was so sorry to learn about the fire, but it makes sense that you lived in the Governor's Mansion for awhile. I knew you were special, and that is quite an interesting coincidence! BTW, I dreamt about you last night, I was your guest and we had a great time together. :-)

Oh WOW ! A full circle indeed . A shame about the fire and the animals though but good that all was rebuild and others didn't get hurt , Almost seems to good to be coincidence more like fate . Wonderful post and photos . Thanks for sharing , have a good day !

What a fun story to read. I wonder if the darker dress was a going-away dress? One of my dearest/oldest friends was a Sunby . . . from that neck of the woods.

What a wonderful convergence! Sometimes the universe just seems to bring things together.

Coincidences are a bonus to adding much more information to a topic.

I love 'coincidences' and the fact that the world is really a small place. Great story!

It is a wonderful circle story. We met a lady in our church once and she asked where we lived. She was from our town and much older and she said you are living in the house my Grandparents house. I remember visiting it. She then said the grandparents wanted a big house and the bought a lot on main street and built a fancy four square house like this one only with many porches. That house literally sat on the corner of main street with business up and down the street. I will have to blog that someday. I remember you said you had a daughter that lived in a house like the one we have on the corner.

I did not know that in collecting old photos you were trying to reunite them with their families. What a cool thing to do. And how fun when you discover a personal connection.

Thank goodness no one was hurt in the fire except the poor animals....that breaks your heart. What a shame but that is how we learned to never leave a drier unattended and also to clean out the vents and coils. When we know better we do better or so one hopes. Thank God! It could've been so much worse. What a fascinating story and I don't believe in coincidence....everything happens for a reason even though we may not understand it.
