Shiny Brite Tree

I finally got all the Shiny Brite ornaments off the tree and packed away.  I am slow.  I had to get the ornaments off the tree before they got dusty. The Shiny Brite Tree Jan 29
Now the shorter tree stands there all naked waiting to be put in the bag and stuffed in the compartment under one of the twin beds.  I left that for another day…wouldn’t want to be an over achiever.

Kinda sad…but it was up for six weeks…plenty of time to enjoy it.

Adam was the only grand that noticed the new tree…he came downstairs at Christmas time and said “Where is the big tree ?  That one is so little.”  I explained that it was too tall…certainly nothing that he can identify with.

Since I sold the old too tall tree I now have room for all of the Shiny Brites inside the tree coffin….which should  probably be called a Shiny Brite coffin now. I actually feel kind of organized and it will be nice not to go on a scavenger hunt looking for boxes of ornaments tucked away here and there and notes in the tree coffin to the whereabouts of all the Shiny Brites…they are all in one spot now.

This is a ornament that Chance gave me one year.  It is painted yellow on the inside and has red stenciled skaters and snowflakes on the outside.  It is a one of a kind…since I only have one of them.

You probably don’t want to know how many hours I can waste looking at Shiny Brites on the net…between etsy and Ebay.  I find it educational and relaxing.

My tree lives in a plastic tree coffin in the loft. My decorations live in two large plastic boxes in the loft, and all my fairy lights live in individual plastic boxes in another tree coffin - they were sold in pairs for some weird reason. It's an anti dust, anti spider campaign and so far it works pretty well. Luckily the Chef is around to lug the tree up the stairs or I would carry it up in pieces.
I bet your room looks empty without the Shiny Bright tree.

What a precious little yellow Shiny Bright. You will miss them after tucking them all away until next December.

I've never seen anything like the yellow ornament: it's beautiful as well as unique.

I don't know why I take such delight knowing all the shiny brites have one home...but I do. ;)

Well, you held off on this task a good long time. Tuck away the cheer and it will come 'round soon enough to do it all over again, Makes me want to bake Christmas cookies, though. I think everyone who owns Shiny Brites should have a printed copybof the history tucked into the boxes, so the next generation knows the history, too. And . . . spending time on the internet reading about the ornaments and looking at photos of them is not a vice. It's online Shiny Brite School!

We put in a lot of effort decorating and then if we take it down right after new years we don't enjoy it that much.

I think it's wonderful that Chance knows yellow is your favorite color. And I see it must be February (or almost) by the new header! Yay! :-)

There could be far worse things that give you joy. I am glad it's Shiny Brites.

I like your Shiny Brites addiction...less expensive than the Bossman's bit and spur collection and at least you have a place to store them. Yes, Chance has good taste!

All caught up on your posts finally! I've lost the ability to comment from one of my computers and really don't enjoy reading on my phone. So here you have it! I'm still out here and enjoying! Love your pretty new header. Makes me realize spring is coming. Your addiction to Shiny Brites isn't a bad thing and most all of us can relate! :)

Several of the ornaments on that tree are exactly like the ones we had when I was a kid. All gone when the house burned down in 1969.

It all sounds mighty organized to me. Sure feels good to know everything is packed away with some order. Chance did good when he gave you that special yellow ornament.

Your collection is wonderful.
I used to spend lots of time looking for pottery on eBay. Haven't done that for quite a while.I have drastically slowed down my collecting. Sure was fun though.

Your Shiny Brites are so pretty, I would probably leave some, if not all, of them up all year!
Congratulations of the completion of a big task!

I don't think there's a soul in America who knows more about Shiny Brites than you do!

We still have two trees up. I am working on it today removing and boxing the other stuff that we put out. We have the next few days of storms so I will get a lot of it done. I think it would be fun to remove ornaments on the big tree during the storm having the lights on for everyone to see from the road. The hanging viral is keeping me slow but I will get things done. I will be taking naps too between my fits of work.

I'm glad I'm not the only one slowing down. I too browse the internet...mostly Pinterest or Google...sometimes Amazon. I love the ornament Chance got you. He has great taste!
