Winter is here

Like it or NOT winter is here.  I am so excited.

My husband who claims he loves me sent out a message on Facebook asking if anyone knew where he could get some Crocks  (Crocs…spelling was never his strong suit) with studs so it wouldn’t be so slippery for me while I was shoveling snow.   What a sweetheart.

I put in a request for a new shovel…my old one is really old and has lost it’s edge. Far Guy said he saw that coming as I was drooling over the pretty red ones at the helpful hardware place last week.

Green Plastic hold out

I got the shoveling done and I cleared off the green chairs…I might soak up some Vitamin D someday.

I cleaned out my flour and bread flour containers, washed them up and refilled them in preparation for the baking season.  I tend to buy flour and sugar when ever it is on sale…which isn’t a bad thing unless you cannot fit anymore in the cupboard.   I mix my own bread flour half white flour and half whole wheat. I use the old Tupperware Cereal Containers for my flour and sugar…works great for me and I have them on the top shelf in the cupboard….the containers are easy to grab down from that high shelf.

I finished that series on Netflix How to get away with murder…now I will wait for the next season to be released. It gets a five out of five stars just for the writers and the plot/plots. (Yes I could watch it on ABC but it is the kind of a show you are better off binge watching.)  I watched kinda a strange movie Seeking a friend for the end of the world with Steve Carell I give it a four out of five stars.

I'll have to check out that Netflix series. It sounds good, Cold here and we've got our first possible snow of the season coming next week. Yes, winter is almost really here. :-(

Oh brr! I want cooler, but I don't want snow. Have you tried Trax for your shoes?

Winter arrived here yesterday, too, and snow lowers and shovels were getting a workout.

Our mountains are starting to get snow too. But since I'm a skier, I like it!

Looks so cold! While I am able to get on my last leg computer, I'll wish you guys a happy Thanksgiving. Hope everyone has a great time.

Do you freeze your flour to kill the eggs?? I have had the worst trouble this years with my flour etc in air tight containers still hatching bugs.

Yep, winter is there and soon to be here. It is a blustery cold day today with the leaves I just raked dancing in all directions. I'm not a winter person.

Yes, I enjoy crisp cool winter air. w have had a few minus 10 eh (12 F) lows. I even had the car seat warmers on.

Ha ha, Crocs with studs! Well, maybe not so funny as I have Yax Trax (or however you spell it) for when the ice on my driveway is thick and getting to the mailbox is a treacherous balancing act. I got mine at Walmart in case you need some, Connie. I'm sort of missing the excitement of the first snowfalls, I must admit.

It has started here. You were way ahead of us. I am not pleased but I guess I can try to get use to it. Juncos are here already and I see I need to put more food out for the birds. They seem very hungry after our first snow. I wear my addias flip flops outside to take the dog as I am just to lazy to put on those stupid shoes.

I know Far Guy isn't the healthiest guy in the universe,,,, but couldn't he take on a little bit of snow shovelling?
We had sleet yesterday (North London) and snow was forecast but I don't think it came this far south.

We either watch shows on Netflix or PVR them and then watch them lol ! We had our first dusting of snow this morning but it is all gone now and the temps are mild ! Got the snow blower all gassed and tuned up waiting and the shovels are by the doors . I have to wear boots when we get any accumulation of snow my feet get cold fast lol and put my grippers / cleats on my boots when it is icy . Crocs are my summer garden shoe lol ! Yup I think for us winter is now here and it is only going to get colder and more snow oh well it is pretty for photos as well and Miggs and I love playing in the snow to . Hope you find those Crocs with studs! It's snowy and cold here too. I'm sitting around today eating lefse and making my holiday list and checking it twice. I'll be glad when we get to Dec. 21st and the sun starts adding minutes again!!!

Hah, I think I asked for a new snow shovel for Christmas one year (amid lots of other stuff, of course). I've been watching How to Get Away With Murder every week, but sometimes I wonder why. It's so over the top, which of course is also why I like it.

I still LOVE my Tupperware. I bought the Fridgemates a few years ago. It's amazing how long produce stays fresh in them.
Have you seen the Crocs that are fur-lined? Probably acrylic fur. I bought two pairs and am wearing one tomorrow when the weather will be in the low forties! We are headed to Sevierville Tn - - Pigeon Forge area. Those crocs probably could not be worn in the snow - - - but I do know they make boots for kids cuz our grandson had some. Do they make them for adults?

p.s. Tell FG to check the Crocs website. LOL

I hope you get your new snow shovel because I'm sure you'll get LOTS of chances to use it before Spring finally comes.

I think you should go buy that shiny new red shon shovel. You have a long winter ahead.

Hi Georgina, I am still able to lift a shovel or two! It is good exercise for me and I don't mind doing it! Far Guy doesn't need to be outside exercising in the cold air....I am trying to keep him healthy!

I never watched How To Get Away With Murder. Might have to peek at it on Netflix. I saw the Steve Carell movie and it was much better than I expected. A red snow shovel just has to work well. ;)
