Spring Blooms

A few things are finally blooming!

Marsh Marigolds or Cowslips on May 3 2015.  These are on Ashley’s road down at the creek.  They are always first to bloom there…or maybe we go that way often. May 1st they were not in bloom …but here they are on May 3rd.

Pin Cherries

Pin Cherry blooms just popping out.

We are supposed to have a few rainy days later this week.  It is very dry we need the rain desperately.  I am not sure how far behind we are with moisture.  I will guess we are 12 inches or more behind this year maybe more.   Our average yearly rainfall/moisture in snow is 26 inches. I suppose now that I have complained we will get dumped on.

Nice to see spring blooms in your part of the world. I hope you get the rain that you so desperately need. We had the most rain in April since 1979.

We are finally getting Spring blooms here. Today it is supposed to rain all day. The ground is really dry so we sure can use it. Hope you get your rain.

With the "heat wave," it's almost fitting to call them "Summer Blooms" - we may have skipped Spring this year.

Oh beautiful just beautiful yes the moisture around here is down dso much. I think the summer will not be as good as expected. Hard to believe with all the snow we had how much we need moisture now. Hug B

The trees are bursting into bloom here, too. Of course, so are the dandelions.

Glad to see Spring is finally coming for you. Our trees are long finished, and the fields are white with what is left of the dandelion seed heads. No rain needed here, but at Oliver, definitely.

We had wild pin cherries on our farm in S. Iowa. I guess I did see them once in a while when we use to visit your state. I always admired the marsh marigold and wished that I could bring some home for my pond. I didn't want to walk in swampy areas to get to it. Misty rainy day for the past two days but it is all very spotty.

We see them too on the wet area of our floodplains or near springs. Blooming like crazy right now...;)

Stuff is starting to bloom here too. Our average yearly moisture is 12 to 14 in. How about that?

The blooms are so pretty! I wonder if the Pin Cherry is the same as the wild cherry trees we have here. I can't believe you called Chance a turd in your last post. : ) Bless his heart. He is loyal. You don't leave him behind often, do you? He is a sweetie pie.

Glad you are getting Spring finally. I heard severe weather hit Minneapolis? Or is the Weather Channel just sensationalizing the weather again. I'm sorry I haven't been around....I have been taking 5 steps forward and 10 steps backward lately and it has not been fun. How's Far Guy doing and you? I hope you are getting some sunshine.. a little vitamin D is good!

Isn't it exciting to see the pretty blooms- I've waited all winter for the flowers to come back. We, too, are expecting rain back in the forecast.. I guess for tomorrow. I've enjoyed the past few sunny days very much.

I think those yellow flowers are similar to some wild flowers that grow here. everything looks so pretty right now.
Hope you get a gentle rain. ♥

Beautiful photos. Isn't it fun to watch for blossoms? I hope the rain isn't a dumping, but the forecast looks like rain on yhe way.

Well, if that's what it takes to get some rain, complain away! While you're at it, say a few complaints for California. We could use some of that rain over here, too.
