Walk

We all went for a walk to the mailbox.  That is the time when Chance gets all the news from the night before…how many deer, rabbits and squirrels went through.  Usually this is a “male” activity…I went along to supervise and to make sure that someone didn’t overdo.  I went from Gestapo to “Warden.”  Staying home and staying indoors is not an easy activity for Far Guy.

Walk to get the mail

As you can see we have very little green yet.  We are hoping for rain today.

Mason and Chance

The best part of the walk for Chance was finding Lumbermason coming up his driveway for a chat.  There is a tree across the back path…Lumbermason said he would take care of it.  I am sure it will be neatly stacked before long.

A couple of more weeks and your spring colors will be out. We have been get Barney out and in without too much mud for some reason. It gets really wet he gets to walk the sidewalk if he isn't too scared. Your light in the sky does look like spring.

Men are definitely difficult when it comes to having to stay still!
Hope Far Guy heals quickly. You will have your green before long. Have a blessed day. ♥

Good neighbors are a godsend - glad that Lumbermason is going to take care of the fallen tree. Not much green around here yet either; unless you count the crazies that have turned on their sprinklers.

Gosh, other than the lack of green, it looks warm and inviting. You are being a very good Gestapo and Warden, and they do need you whether they know it or not. :-)

Hello, I've just found your site. I like your sense of humour and Chance, and when I read that you like all films starring Sean Connery I knew I would be a regular reader. Hope Far Guy gets well soon. Polly

You certainly are aware of some of the things that go through Chance's head. Good to hear that rain is coming your way. Your rain is coming from somewhere else. I don't have any rain to send ...just wind.

Happy Sunday to you! It seems like I've missed a whole lot of happenings with you and Far guy. I love your road and of course Border Collie's are one of my favorite dogs. I hope your man is feeling better; it is definitely no fun when you have trouble breathing. I got allergy shots of about 20 yrs and had asthma for nearly that long. Now I only get it when I've got bronchitis-which is hardly ever. WE are having so much wind here in Colorado and winter has returned. I'm longing for spring warmth. Have a great day!

It's good news that Far Guy is able to enjoy a walk to the mailbox and interesting smells for Chance, too. I hope you got some of the nice rain today and things start to green up.

There's no one ont he streets here but I'm sure they're all watching out their windows! LOL! I sure miss the country.

I am very behind on reading your posts. Happy Belated Birthdays to your daughter and granddaughter. I am happy to read that Far Guy is a bit better and behaving himself about overdoing it! He is in my prayers for a speedy recovery. I am so glad your neighbor is a GOOD neighbor. Those are few and far between. Have a blessed week!

I hope you get the rain you need. We had some on and off all day today. Warden, eh? You wear a lot of hats!

It is amazing the difference in vegetation between you and us. We have had the daffodils and they are gone. Iris are blooming. Dogwoods are almost done. And we have had sooooooooo much rain that the weeds in the woods are going crazy already and it's too wet to weed-eat but I am not complaining at all. Like I mentioned, it has kept the pine pollen dust away.
I am so glad that you are able to get out and about. Do you all have a golf cart? I know more than a few people who live on larger pieces of property in the country and they use them a lot. Would FG enjoy that or would he rather walk? It would give him options and help him conserve some energy while still being outside. Just a thought.

You do need rain to settle the dust and grow the green. I hope Far guy is feeling a bit better.

We finally got drizzle yesterday and the grass is trying to get green finally. All the warm weather we've had off and on and we were still brown...so dry. Travel to the mailbox might have to be a group activity for a while. ;)
What a nice neighbor!! Many thanks to him for taking care of the tree for you guys. I bet FarGuy liked a little visiting, too. :)

So dry here too - already watering more than I should have to. Not hopeful that we will have wildflowers this year just because it is so dry. The "front range" on Friday had the amount of snow we'd normally see high up the end of June. :-(
