Glass Flowers

I started a project early in the spring.  I collected glass plates, vases and bowls.  Well I did a really good job of collecting. (Imagine that)  Then I got sick and had to put it all away.  Last week I got everything out and designed some flowers.  It was a fun project.

I wanted to share the first one.  It is a smaller four piece flower.  I have some larger ones, we are working on getting them all on heavy duty copper tubing.

Glass Flowers

I hope the squirrels don’t try to use it as a step ladder into the bird feeders.

I like that I don’t have to water or deadhead these flowers.  Thanks to Linda for sharing about her glass flowers, they were the inspiration for mine.

What a great idea; I had not seen one of these before.

Nice job! I think I like yours better than the ones I saw, professionally done, at the Garden Show. :-)

This is cool. Maybe I could find some of my stuff and set it up. In my case I hope the squirrel comes along and then I don't have to take the stuff back in the house.

What a neat idea! I've got an empty rock garden that this would look great in!

this would be fun to collect at thrift stores - cheap too!!

How pretty! I have seen these around and have often thought of making some. Thinking about it is as far as I get.
What type of glue do you use?

That is so beautiful! I am very impressed with your creativity! I can just imagine how lovely they'll be when the sun shines through or the raindrops settle in the crevices! Maybe I'll try one myself -- you've inspired me!

I used a marine glue that is waterproof...and let it cure for at least 24 hours. :)

Hey, another "student" of mine has struck out on her own. I love your result, and I love it that glass flowers are spreading their seeds across the country!

Very, very pretty! You are a creative person. I'm so glad you have time and energy now to "grow" a need species of flowers.

What a great way to reuse some glass, and create something really stunning in your garden. We are watering every day here in Texas for the flowers in pots. Ugh! These would work for me as well!

I love this idea! A great way to use glassware that no one wants any more. Nice job.

I have seen people put out tea cups ans saucers for bird feeders. This is the first for me seeing glass flowers. Interesting results with a great garden accent.
