Chance : Out for a Drive

Hello!  It’s me..it is the most handsome blogging Border Collie in all of the world Northern Minnesota.

Far Side and I went for a drive..we saw smoke and a fire in the trees..and about 50 turkeys in a field.  The Turkeys were too far away for a photo..but we watched them anyways.

When Far Side drives..I ride shot gun..you know co pilot.  That means I am in charge of my own window.

Chance opening the window.

I am a window operator.  I can push the button and roll it down..scares the crap out of Far Guy.    ( They had an in depth discussion one day..about whether or not I could roll it up so fast that I could catch my head in the window…so it was decided if I hit the window button that the driver would immediately hit the window lock button and save me from squishing my own head.) Someone (might have been Far Side said) “Well he is a Border Collie ..he otta know better.”

Yesterday my window antics just made Far Side laugh..so she was laughing, driving, trying to hit the window lock and taking a photo all at once.

Good thing were were just Sunday driving down a gravel road where there was no traffic.  Well except for the blankety blank Fed Ex driver that passed us while we were going up a hill.  Far Side got the address he was delivering to and noted the time of day..she said something about reporting his ass…and for goodness sakes what’s the rush you could have gotten us all kilt…dumb ass.

Nothing better than fresh air and hanging your head out the windowThere is nothing better than hanging your head out the window letting your ears flap in the breeze.

We have some snow in the woods..but out on the prairie is is brown.  Far Side says this is a section of native grass prairie..that has not been sacrificed to the potato gods…yet.

We had a very nice drive.  As soon as we got home it started to snow:)

Oh Chance, you are such a talent. Co~pilot a car, run the window, spot the wildlife and crime prevention all rolled up in one!!!

Tell Far Side I do believe all delivery drivers go to some kinda specialty 'Wild Drivers School".

I know 'round here ya really don't want to mess with 'em on a dirt road.

Chance, would ya ever consider dropin' down to the Ozarks and givin' Pepper Nipper a lesson or seventy on good behavior??? That one is wearin' my last nerve as thin as your snow cover.

God bless and I hope your weekend is filled with rabbits, bones and heaps of doggie treats!!!

Now go give 'Far Side' a little howdy nudge for me.

I love when Chance takes over the blogging. So funny. It has been a mild winter this year. Maybe the rest of it won't be too bad. Don't know about up there but a mild winter usually means a lot of bugs in the summer. fleas get bad in a mild winter too.

Chance, that picture of you with your head all the way out, ears flapping, made me smile really big. Tell Far Side she's a lucky woman to have you in her life. But then again, I'll bet she already knows. :-)

Chance, you have got to be the smartest dog in the world...blogging...and tell Far Side those blankity blank fed ex/ups/delivery drivers here in Michigan need reporting too! Keep up the blogging buddy, I love it when you take over!

Chance - - you have a zest for life and I'll bet you could learn to drive with little training! Beautiful pics of God's creation. It looks peaceful other than the FedEx guy. Guess it's time for some snow in your area since it is January.

Hi there Chance, Tucker here! Oh, how I wish I could ride shot gun, but no, oh no, my mom makes me ride in the back. Do you know how awful that makes me feel? She says its on account of my hair and that she wants to be able to ride shot gun when Dad's driving and not look like me when she gets out of the seat. Geesh! I think I look pretty nice - who wouldn't want to look like me?!
Anyway, Mom read your post to me. You are the best looking, and smartest, Border Collie I know! (I can say that 'cause I'm an Australian Shepherd) I like how you open the window and put your head out! You get the best sniffs that way!

Great timing with the driving and the snow! It's like me feeling very smug, just getting back from a walk, as it starts to pour rain.

Hope no-one has to hit the brakes hard with you hanging out the window like that, though:)

Haha! Chance you're one great co-pilot. Way to Keep Far Guy and Far Side on their toes. Hope you barked at the Fex-Ex truck too.

I'm glad you got snow. We're still waiting and wondering...

First thing we do when traveling with dogs is to crack the windows a little and then lock them. Otherwise our Lucy will hit the button. Now...BE CAREFUL!

Where did Chance learn to talk like that? You know....those potty words he was using? LOL!

I just have to say, as with USPS and UPS, FedEx has x-amount of deliveries and is only allowed X-amount of time for each delivery. We all have safety taught to us but also have time schedules and if you can't do it, we'll find someone who can shoved down our throats daily. All these companies seem to be trying to find a way to reduce the employees without using some form of due process...have to cut expenses someway. Although the practise is deplorable, hope the driver still has a job next week.

Chance, as always, seems to have a good time.

We are starting to brown up here also. With the melt comes mud...but it does freeze at night so when the dogs and I go for a walk, it's sort of frozen...I'll take it.

I have no doubt that you could get your head in before you got it caught in the window. You are too smart to let a mere window get the best of you--LOL! ;)
