The Shiny Brite Ladies

The Shiny Brite tree is all decorated. I lost count..I will estimate that there are about 300 Shiny Brites.

This year Lillian joins Jo, Rae and Grace.  They are all Shiny Brite ladies whose ornaments adorn my big  tree upstairs.

The purple ones belonged to neighbor lady Grandma Grace and then she sold them at a garage sale.   Lucky for me..they are the ornaments that began the Shiny Brite Addiction a long time ago.

This is one of the indents that Rae at The Old Weather Vane gifted to me several years ago.

Ornaments from Jo (2)

Jo who lives just down the road from me..gave me these last year.

This year my best friend Susan was clearing out some of her Mothers belongings..Lillian liked Shiny Brites too and after her death Susan gave me a box.

This is the first year they have been on my tree.

So these are for you Lillian.  When I look at them I will remember your smile and your laugh..they are a perfect addition to my tree.

I think it looks just wonderful!   All the Shiny Brites that I have been collecting over the past 25 years finally have a proper home:)

  1. Chance next to the tree gives me an idea how tall it is! They look great, Connie. I especially like the newest additions with the sparkly decorations on them from Lillian. The perfect addition.

  6. They are really beautiful! They take me back to the late fifties and early sixties with our trees. Of course, during those times, we had the tree dripping with tinsel strings. I am so glad we use garland beads now instead. Your tradition has become more special with time because it is a time for rejoicing in lives of friends and family as you hang each set of ornaments.

  8. Wow, that's quite a job decorating a second tree! It's nice that you are able to keep them separate though. If I go to any garage sales, you'll have me checking to see if any of the Christmas ornaments are Shiny Brites:) The tree looks great!

  9. Very nice! I'm going to have to dig around and see if I can find any of the shiny brites that I use to have around here and send them your way.

  10. Such a beautiful tree, and those shiny brights...they make my heart ache in the nicest way. So many of them remind me of our childhood...the precious glass ornaments that one by one were broken. We still have some left, and they are more valuable to us now then before.

    Love them.

  12. Your tree is gorgeous! I wish you lived close by to come over to go through my mother's old ornaments, none are in the original boxes but I can bet many would be the ones you collect!

Wishing you and Far Guy a very Merry Christmas! :-)

  13. Your Shiny Brites remind me of ornaments we had in the 50s and 60s. Peter and I have a few similar ornaments that had been on his parents' tree, but we don't know what brand they are. Your tree is gorgeous! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

  15. It is a wonderful collection. I don't think I have ever seen the purple one before now. I like that there are a few from friends and family of old. It a a great looking tree and it looks like Chance is glad it is finally up so he can rest.

  16. I am so pleased to see you using those ornaments. They belong with someone who will actually display them instead of just sitting hidden in a box on my shelf.
