Wild Gardens

The flowers in June are so different, it seems like they are full of promise..all colors of the rainbow. The Lupines are the Stars of my June garden.

Lupines in June

The flowers of July are like spent fireworks. The Lupine have formed their seed pods and start to re seed sometimes quite explosively. The Gaillardia begin to show off..

July Gardens

The flowers of August are warm and comforting..they signal the start of the end of summer.

Far Guy mows the pathways for me all summer, so I can walk amongst the flowers and take photographs.  Sometimes I have lots of dog company.  I started this planting a long time ago with just a few flowers..and fewer weeds.

They are what they are…beautiful and wild and no fuss no muss only a little mowing and lots of photo taking.

The dogs on the Wildflower path

I don’t weed, I don’t water, Chance and his friends fertilize frequently. The Wildflowers have formed root systems deep and strong that will withstand drought and heat in the summer and the forty below zero in the winter.   Deer and Turkeys wander in and out of the yard…they munch here and there..I am past getting upset about what the bums eat..I just share. After years of perfect gardens these Wildflower Gardens are now just perfect for me:)

You have a beautiful garden to enjoy and nice that you share with the animals who want to munch on the flowers sometimes. Plenty for everyone it looks like.

My flowerbeds look very much like yours. The best flowers for mre are the wild ones that take care of themselves.

I have a side yard which I would like to plant in wildflowers...however, the hubby would rather keep it short and mow...bummer...

Your wildflowers are wild! And beautiful. Who likes flowers all neat and in rows? (Well, I do but then they are not wildflowers, are they?)

Very pretty and such a joy to photograph, I am sure. Cute pic of Chance and Miney(?) among the flowers!

You guys have a good weekend.

We grew some wildflowers between fences, but on our property. We thought they were lovely but our neighbor disagreed. He called the city to complain about the high "weeds" and we got a notice to mow them.

We were more than shocked.

I LOVE your wildflower gardens Connie! The lupines are beautiful. No fuss no muss is the way to go. :)

Hope you and Far Guy and Chance are all doing well, and I'll bet you guys have stayed cooler than we have this summer. LOL

I love your wildflower garden. It's pretty and relaxing. It is funny to hear you talk about the end of summer. We have quite a few hot days left here in TN.

These, my friend, are the perfect gardens! Wild, no work necessary apart from mowing some paths - and such a riot of colours! Lovely.

It is a beautiful area. I have a few straggling June flowers out there but my fall flowers are very few.

I posted flower photos from my garden this morning on Facebook. I entitled it "stop and smell the..." and then I realized that none of my august blooms have fragrance. none
