Veterans Day 2010

My Dad was in the Korean War, he was in Korea when I was born.  He spent a cold miserable winter there without proper boots or clothing.  I think he still moves his toes all night long..to keep them from freezing.  Sometimes the snow would cover the foxholes just like a blanket and he would have to dig himself out in the morning.

My Dad on the right and one of his friends, this was taken in the Enlisted Club in Tokyo, Japan where he was sent on R and R.

I would like to thank all the Soldiers in my life, my Dad, my husband, my baby brother and my nephew.  Army, Air Force and Navy Veterans. My nephew is presently active duty in the Navy. Happy Veterans Day to all the soldiers out there! :)

Wonderful photo of your dad and his friend Connie. I would like to thank all of those who have served our country and those who still are. May God bless.

Indeed. Let us thank all service personnel for their sacrifice and let us long for a time when such sacrifice is no longer necessary.

My father was a WWII veteran. He flew on a B24 Liberator over Germany. He passed away a few years ago but I would still like to thank his spirit and all who have served and are serving today for their sacrifice to help protect our freedom.

I was so moved by the Memorial to the Korean Veterans in Washington, DC. It showed how miserable and cold they were, and how they suffered. I also honor all in my family and friends who have served: my dad and uncles, son, nephews and nieces.

It makes me tear up just to think about them all. Our freedom is so very fragile and to think it is again on the line.

My step-uncle was also in the Koren war and he talks about the cold as if it became a live living thing of torment.

Tell you Dad...THANK YOU, for me please.

Wonderful pictures. The soldiers always look so young but it's because most of them were. I am thankful for past and current military personnel who serve us.
