Thanksgiving Report

We got snow on Wednesday morning..just in time for a white Thanksgiving..I do believe that this snow will be the one that stays..it is our third snow.   We hurried off to my Dental appointment.. Root canals..what fun.  I came home and baked all my pies while I was numb.

I went to the All School Reunion meeting on Wednesday evening to give my two cents on the fundraising dinner..I shared my observations and recommendations concerning safe food handling with them..they took my opinionated opinions quite well.  They asked for feedback on the dinner..so I gave them some.  No one had noticed the things I did ..my thought was they all must be blind as bats..or really shouldn't have graduated from high school at all.

We went to Trica and Dick's for Dinner.  The turkey was cooked and we all ate way too much.  I had a nap before dinner, I am still a little tired..that root canal I had on Wednesday was not exactly a piece of cake.   I still cannot chew anything on that side of my mouth..but the other side works just fine.  I even passed up the wine..usually I really enjoy some wine with our Thank Meal.  We have much to be thankful for a warm home,  reasonably good health, beautiful children and grandchildren..and a good dog.   It is a whole lot of fuss and cooking for twenty minutes of eating.. Jen tried to fit black olives on all of her fingers like she did when she was little..she has bigger fingers now.   My favorite..the mashed potatoes and gravy and the dark turkey meat.  With a slice of Pumpkin Pie for desert..some things never change:)

So sorry you are so sore from the root canal. Every time something stressful happens in my life, I get an absessed tooth which results in a root canal. Needless to say, I've had a few and I sure do sympathize. Sometimes, sleep is the best thing for the healing process. The snow looks pretty to me; as usual we had a mild, sunny day for T day. You have made me hungry for mashed potatoes and gravy - one of my favorites. Hope you feel better real soon Connie. Give my best to Far Guy and hugs for Chance.

Ouch! Not the best for a root canal...well, maybe there is NO good time for one of those. We spent hours stuck in traffic, dinner with family was very nice but the traveling part was the pits!
Hope your mouth feels better soon.
Sunny :)

Snow on Thanksgiving how wonderful. It was 84 here. I would have liked it to at least been sweater weather. I missed having a home cooked meal I had to eat at a buffet after driving to another county, how I would have loved to sit down at a dinner table at someones house, but no one wanted to cook.
Sorry that that darn root canal wouldn't let you enjoy the dinner like you wanted and most of all for the wine you missed.

That banner is beautiful. I am glad you didn't have to do all the cooking. The dental tech says just eat on the other side, and I said, well won't that be fun. It can be done but they don't feel our pain. Our snow went away but I am told that I have two good days to cut molding for 26 frames, and I have to do that outside, so I will be busy. I hope you get to feeling better.

I am glad to hear your root canal is over and done with. Hopefully you will be feeling back to normal real soon. I dread snow's arrival here. We missed it yesterday. I like to watch it when it falls, but I hate when it lingers around. It is too sloppy and messy. I loved your Christmas comments on my blog post. I feel the same way about the holiday. I dread all the stuff that is expected - shopping, wrapping, cooking. Maybe we should share that wine you were talking about here. It might help our attitudes and make for some merry celebrating!

Sounds like it was worth the twenty minuts of eating ;)

I had one root canal and it was so painful that I head to the dentist when I have ANY sign of distress. But the snow is great, and I'm so glad you are on the mend. You also write some totally cool comments on my blog, which I look forward to (as Rae said). Love your header, too. It made me anxious to get mine into the winter mode. Chance is always included in your banners, I notice. What a coincidence! :-)

I dream of root canals...uh, make that, have nightmares about them.

Hope you are recovering. Take one slice of pumpkin pie and eat it every so slowly and it will help that tooth, I swear.

Snow??! SNOW????!!!! I'm shivering just looking at your photos! But I will say it IS beautiful to look at. It would be nice if I could just come to your blog all winter and LOOK at the snow in your neck of the woods, and not see it here. LOL

So sorry about your root canal. The dentist is certainly my least favorite place to go. I hope you are feeling better soon!

*hugs*

Your snow was a surprise to me! We had about 4 days of overcast, grey, misty & foggy weather here...I might have preferred the snow. Glad to hear you had a decent TG day despite your unfortunate root canal! The one I had left me not eating solids for almost 2 days (it was abnormally complicated, though). Ours was busy but nice.

Ugh - root canals! My sympathies...

Snow, family and some good food on Thanksgiving sounds wonderful though!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Aren't black olives the best!? They make the perfect top for little fingers.
