Old Photos From South Dakota

Back in October I wrote about starting a new blog that takes a look at old photographs.   I did and it is called Forgotten Old Photos..it doesn't appeal to everyone..but I am having a good time with it.  On the day when I wrote about it..one of my commenter's wrote this:

Would you like more, old black and white photo's? Turn of the century? I have quite a few that were my Grandmothers and no one can identify them. You would be welcome to them if you'd like.

On Saturday this package arrived!

Chock full of photographs!  Many Thanks to Dennisranch,  pop on over there and say Hi..he has a pretty good looking spread in South Dakota, and he is a very proud grandpa too!

Far Guy asked me just the other day .."What are you going to do when you run out of photographs? "  I replied I have enough for quite some time..now I have more.  Thanks to the generosity of one of my blog readers:)

You come up with the greatest ideas. I want to blog all of my Dad's war photos some day just for family and whoever else wants to see them. If you run out I can scan and ship some to you from an old house that my dad tore down. I am the brother that got stuck with all of that stuff. I will check out the new site.

I don't know how you do it, Connie. I have all these great ideas but once I sit down at the computer to read all my friends latest and write one of my own, then read the news once again in case something happened since I last read the news, the day is, well, over... and I didn't get anything new accomplished. I think I'll start a to-do list and check things off.

I am glad you started your old photos blog. I enjoy looking at the old clothes and looks. It is interesting to see how much things have changed. It was a great idea.

What a kind person! We read your forgotten photo blog everyday (even though we don't comment very often). It's sooooo neat!

Kisses,

Looks like you will be busy enough to stay out of trouble... Ha Ha! What a very interesting endeavor....I'm sure when you start running out we can help you find more....

Glad I could help you out. I am a pack rat according to my wife, and I just hated the thought of throwing those out. No one alive could identify them. Matter of fact, my deceased parents couldn't even identify them when they were still here. Most are probably from Illinois tho' as that is where my Grandmother came from.

I have quite a number of them (would not throw them out) and some are already scanned into my computer

Let me know if you want to post some of them, too!

This is wonderful, Connie. Have you thought about connecting with DeadFred and some of the other genealogy photo sites? There just maybe a possiblity that some one somewhere would know these people and would love to see them.
