Army surplus?

Initially one thinks it is in the shape of a grenade but no that is not that. I can't figure out the cable coming out of the bottom of it. No guesses.

Haven't got a clue. Are you saving it for a special occasion? Were you going to bury it for the digging lady to find? Bet that would give her a shock. The look on her face would be worth it to have her dig one more time. I give up. Please tell us.

Hmmm... first, what is it?? If it's a munition, I hope it wasn't in the U.S.!!

I don't know where you found it but when we moved into our house we found one on a shelf in the garage. The bomb squad had to come out before the sheriff would let us finish moving in. It was a Sunday afternoon and the "bomb squad" showed up in a pick up truck with a baseball cap and cowboy boots on! That's when we knew we had really moved out to the sticks! Ha!!! Can't wait to hear the rest of your story.

Maybe you found it in your husbands sock drawer....or while digging in the garden. My husband used a grenade has a shifter knob in his Land Cruiser....it looked pretty cool.

ps You commented about our roller coaster roads for the Sunday Stills Challenge that we probably don't get ice and snow. Well, you might be surprised to know that we do. We are at 7,000 ft. elevation and we only live 10 miles from a ski area above us at 10,000 feet. Some years we can get 2-4 feet at all time. Most of the time we just get 4-8" of snow, though, and it melts by the next day. We also have wonderful county workers who clear the roads when it first starts snowing. They work all night, and by morning our roads are clear.

It looks like someone filed on it with a power file so its probably inert and was in a basement workshop. You found it in the rubble after the original owner had a moment of of revelation upon realizing the next grenade he was filing down was not inert.
